Summary: An experienced Senior Cabling Engineer is sought to support data centre and corporate infrastructure projects across multiple UK locations. This hands-on role requires expertise in structured cabling and experience in critical environments, focusing on installation, testing, and maintenance of cabling systems. The position involves working with a skilled delivery team and may require flexible working hours, including nights and weekends. The role is classified as inside IR35 and offers an initial 6-month contract with potential extensions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation, termination, and testing of copper and fibre cabling.
- Using Fluke test equipment for testing and fault finding.
- Installing cable pathways (tray, basket, trunking, fibre runner).
- Rack & stack of network hardware (switches, routers, servers).
- Power and data cabling within server and network racks.
- Following patching schedules and technical documentation.
- Basic IP addressing under guidance.
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in structured cabling.
- Strong data centre and enterprise environment experience.
- Health & Safety qualification (CSCS / ECS or equivalent).
- At least 3 manufacturer or industry accreditations (e.g. Commscope, Corning, Panduit).
- Industry-recognised cabling training (CNET, BICSI, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent).
- IPAF and/or PASMA preferred.

Key Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in structured cabling
- Strong data centre and enterprise environment experience
- Installation, termination and testing of copper and fibre cabling
- Confident using Fluke test equipment for testing and fault finding
- Experience installing cable pathways (tray, basket, trunking, fibre runner)
