Our team, at our Bristol facility, develop solutions for the next generation of Air Defence Systems; developing evolving products whilst maintaining our enviable reputation for safety, performance and dependability.
Responsibilities
To produce a software Console product, replacing an existing version with better software architecture making the product more maintainable and verifiable going forward. This is not an up-date, but a remake – this is estimated to a minimum of 12 month’s work. The task is primarily an independent solo task, but based within a team for support/input and to ensure that the resulting product operates within the intended system.
Skillset/experience required
- A strong background in software engineering, its realisation and system wide impact.
- Experience of working in C++ and QT
- Collaborative, open approach to application development and have the ability to maintain momentum during development.
- Experience of working across the entire software development process from engaging with requirement authorities to automated proving, supported with effective documentation
- Experience of new tools, techniques and approaches that might enable us to evolve our processes to improve our efficiency and sustainability
- Experience in other languages such as Ada, QT
- Knowledge of DDS and multi-threaded applications.
- Knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C or IEC61508 and restricted coding standards such as MISRA C++
