Summary: The C&P Drilling Lead is responsible for leading and organizing drilling wells and logistics activities within the Contracts and Procurement entity. This role involves managing contracts, optimizing costs, and ensuring compliance with procurement practices while collaborating with partner entities. The position requires significant experience in supply chain management and operational activities related to drilling and project management. The role is residential, initially based in Pau for six months before relocating to Maputo, Mozambique.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist partner entities with all Contracts and Procurement activities.
- Organize and control the Contracts and Procurement function daily.
- Supervise and ensure appropriate strategies for Contracts Committees.
- Drive cost optimization using market intelligence and supplier evaluations.
- Promote continuous improvement of Contracts and Procurement practices.
- Lead meetings with partner entities and technical managers.
- Coordinate workload within the Contracts and Procurement workforce.
- Manage the DW Contracts and Procurement team in cooperation with partners.
- Ensure necessary competencies for Contracts and Procurement activities.
- Communicate good practices and lessons learned on contractual matters.
- Participate in job specification, competence assessment, and recruitment.
- Anticipate partner entities' needs through procurement planning.
- Supervise establishment of technical contracts and manage contract processes.
- Control and manage distribution of Purchase Requisitions for materials.
- Ensure effective use of tools and systems for productivity.
- Maintain a log of savings generated in Contracts and Procurement.
- Validate contractual documents and formal letters issued by the entity.
- Conduct contractual audits to ensure performance of terms and conditions.
- Intervene in lawsuits and propose strategies for negotiations.
- Define and monitor KPIs for efficiency improvements.
- Keep contract templates updated and adapt to local requirements.
- Report on DW Contract and Procurement activity to management.
- Define and monitor adapted Contracting and Procurement strategies.
Key Skills:
- Advanced Contracts and Procurement technical competencies.
- Basic or intermediate technical competencies in related fields.
- Advanced certification in C&P tools.
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- 10-15 years of professional experience in supply chain management.
- Excellent knowledge of core operational activities (Project Management, Exploration, Drilling, Engineering, Field Ops).
- Strong negotiation skills.
- International experience preferred.
