Summary: The Senior Software Developer role focuses on leading a small development team within a leading insurance company, primarily working on greenfield projects using .NET and Azure technologies. The position requires making architectural decisions and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high-performance software solutions. This contract role offers the potential for extension beyond the initial six months. The working arrangement is hybrid, with a maximum of three days in the office per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a small development team, ensuring high coding standards and best practices.
• Work on greenfield projects, developing systems and services that act as a central hub for the business.
• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions using .NET and Azure.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, providing technical leadership and making architectural decisions.
• Optimize and manage large datasets, ensuring efficient data handling and performance.
• Develop and maintain Web APIs, ensuring seamless integration with business systems.
• Work in a hybrid model, with up to three days per week in the London office.

Key Skills:

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in .NET development with a strong focus on Azure.
• Proven experience working with large datasets and ORM frameworks.
• Solid understanding of Web API development and API technologies.
• Experience in financial services/insurance (preferred but not essential).
• Familiarity with SQL and message queues (advantageous).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders and interpret architectural requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
