Summary: World Class Defence Organisation in Bristol seeks a C++/Linux Software Product Support Engineer for an initial 6-month contract. The role requires on-site work and offers a 4-day work week. The engineer will support missile-system Middleware solutions, focusing on debugging and Linux OS configuration. Strong communication skills and a passion for software engineering are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support in-service missile-system Middleware solutions and troubleshoot issues.
- Conduct debugging and engineering investigations on complex software.
- Configure and maintain Linux Operating Systems, ensuring security and support solutions.
- Collaborate with a team to resolve emerging software issues across multiple applications.
- Communicate technical matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Key Skills:
- Experience with C or C++, Ada, and/or JavaScript, Shell Scripting languages.
- Experience configuring and maintaining Linux OSs (Redhat and/or Ubuntu).
- Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking in software engineering.
- Excellent communication skills for technical discussions with non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
