Summary: The role of Buyer focuses on the procurement of subcontracting works for a leading infrastructure business in the West Midlands. This position is a 10-month fixed-term contract starting in April, requiring strong negotiation skills and the ability to maintain relationships with subcontractors. The Buyer will work collaboratively with various departments and ensure compliance with procurement policies. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement with three days in the office and two days remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the procurement of subcontracting services
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures
- Work collaboratively with other departments on procurement matters
- Negotiate contracts
- Track and report on subcontractor performance
- Identify opportunities for cost savings
- Maintain procurement records and documentation
Key Skills:
- Previous procurement experience at Buyer level within the private sector
- Strong negotiation skills
- Knowledge of procurement policies and procedures
- Able to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
- Eager to learn and develop
- Comfortable being in the office 3 days per week
