Summary: The MRO Buyer role at a leading biopharmaceutical company in Wrexham involves sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing Maintenance, Repair, and Operations supplies for a new manufacturing line. The position requires a detail-oriented individual with experience in MRO procurement, who will work on a hybrid basis for an initial 12-month contract. The role emphasizes cost optimization, supplier relationship management, and compliance with procurement policies. This position is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate suppliers for MRO materials and services. Negotiate contracts and terms to secure the best value for the company.
- Continuously look for alternative suppliers and strive to purchase directly from manufacturers whenever possible to optimize costs and quality.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains and address any issues promptly.
- Analyze and manage costs associated with MRO purchases, including tracking, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, with an emphasis on adhering to sustainability criteria.
Key Skills:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in MRO procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in maintenance operations.
- Knowledge of Ariba sourcing and SAP.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering end-to-end projects and achieving Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) savings.
