Summary: Rubicon Consulting is seeking a Project Buyer for a 9-12 month contract in Newcastle, focusing on supporting the Marine Turbine Business with procurement activities. The role requires a blend of technical and commercial skills, along with experience in managing stakeholders under tight deadlines. Candidates with a mechanical engineering background and experience in project procurement within a manufacturing environment are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project procurement of key materials, products and services
- Day to day management and execution of open purchase orders including expediting of hardware & software deliverables with a particular focus on quality documentation and planning
- Comply with Procurement policies and Strategic Procurement initiatives, in-line with business requirements and strategies
Key Skills:
- Mechanical Engineering background
- Experience and understanding of core project procurement activities, ideally in an engineering/technical/project-based environment
- A strong blend of commercial and technical acumen
- Knowledge and experience of working to stringent technical quality standards
- Ability to interrogate and challenge scheduling plans
- Ability to manage internal & external stakeholders working to tight deadlines
- Educated to at least HNC in an appropriate technical or commercial subject
- Able to communicate clearly with people at all levels, both internal and external to Siemens Energy
- Self-motivated, flexible and can work under pressure on their own initiative

Role Summary
We are looking to recruit a Project Buyer to join our Supply Chain Management Procurement team. Reporting to the Direct Procurement Manager the successful applicant will work full time on supporting the Marine Turbine Business with core procurement activities to ensure they are executed in line with the applicable Siemens and Customer standards.
The successful candidate will have a strong blend of technical and commercial acumen and the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders within challenging deadlines. Experience working in manufacturing environment with fabricated an/or machined parts would be preferred.
