Detailed Description From Employer:

It’s developing a commercially successful range that excite customers across the world. It’s taking ownership and shaping future products. And it’s supporting a team where your expertise drives growth and success. This is what makes working for Royal Collection Trust so exceptional. With a growing retail presence across stores, partners and online, our focus is on creating unique, high-quality products that reflect our brand values. Many of our ranges are exclusive and developed in-house, with a strong emphasis on ethical sourcing and sustainable practices. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Buyer to join a high-performing team based at St James’s Palace. You’ll lead the development of innovative and commercially viable ranges, managing supplier relationships, and mentoring junior colleagues while ensuring product quality and profitability.

Key Responsibilities: You’ll build balanced and commercially successful product ranges that reflect both our brand identity and customer expectations. You’ll identify new product opportunities, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to bring fresh ideas to market. Working with our supply partners, you’ll manage all stages of product development – from negotiation through to production – ensuring each item meets our quality standards. Working alongside the merchandising team, you’ll support the Open to Buy (OTB) process to help maximise in-season trading opportunities and drive category growth. Critical to your role will be ensuring the product cycle runs smoothly, overseeing Assistant Buyers and Buying Administrators to maintain accurate and timely information at every stage. You’ll regularly review sales and trading performance, using insights to inform future buying decisions and mitigate risk. With a focus on sustainability, you’ll ensure all products adhere to our ethical sourcing standards. And, as a supportive manager, you’ll help develop the skills and potential of your team members.

Essential Criteria: With previous buying experience, you’ll bring strong commercial instincts and a passion for product. You’ll have a keen eye for trends and a natural flair for range building, alongside a solid understanding of how to drive profitability. A confident communicator and relationship-builder, you’ll enjoy collaborating across teams and suppliers alike. Analytical and numerate, you’ll be confident using sales reports and data to spot opportunities and make informed decisions. You’ll be well organised, self-motivated and comfortable managing a varied workload, flexing to meet changing priorities as needed. Whilst experience in homeware or gifting and knowledge of UK sourcing and production would be beneficial, it’s the pride you take in developing product lines that resonate with customers and embody brand values that we’re really interested in.
