Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the procurement of materials and services required for the project.
• Issue requests for quotations and negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
• Ensure material orders are aligned with project requirements and budgets.
• Maintain accurate purchase requisitions and purchase orders (SAP MM experience beneficial).
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
• Monitor supplier performance and manage any issues that arise with supply or delivery.
• Engage with H&S, Sustainability, and Social Value teams to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Support prompt payment processes and ensure that contractual terms are met.

Key Skills:

• Proven experience as a Buyer within civil engineering projects, preferably in rail.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in IT systems (SAP MM experience is a plus).
• CIPS qualification (desirable but not essential).
• Willingness to travel for meetings across the project as needed.
