Summary: The Buyer role focuses on supporting construction projects by leveraging extensive purchasing experience, particularly with JCT/CIC Contracts. Key Responsibilities:
- Research suppliers and negotiate price/terms for various construction projects.
- Management of new and existing suppliers for indirect purchasing requirements (expense and capital items).
- Creation, negotiation, maintenance and review of purchase agreements.
- Creation and management of tenders/RFQs for services (e.g. design consultants) and capital items (construction project works).
- Conduct market research into identifying pricing trends.
- Conduct Supplier Business Reviews (SBR) for principal suppliers.
- Use of purchasing system (SAP) for raising requisitions/POs/running reports/checking invoices/raising and maintaining PIRs and source lists.
- New supplier onboarding/existing supplier modification process using (SRM system).
Key Skills:
- Demonstrable years of purchasing experience.
- Experience of JCT and CIC or equivalent construction/consultancy contracts essential from a client perspective.
- Experience of computerised purchasing system (preferably SAP).
- Computer literate (MS Word, Excel and Outlook essential).
- Working knowledge of contracts.

Role Profile
We are seeking a seasoned purchasing professional to bring a wealth of knowledge and experience of working with JCT/CIC Contracts to the existing team. This role will be vital to supporting a high number of construction projects happening in 2026/2027 of medium to high value. In this role, you will purchase construction-based goods and services within approved guidelines to ensure that company operational needs are met, taking into account the price, quality and delivery and ensuring continuity of supply.
