Summary: Petrofac is seeking a Buyer for a 12-month PAYE contract based in Aberdeen, Scotland. The role involves sourcing and procuring operational and engineering materials and services while ensuring compliance with company procedures and ethical practices. The Buyer will support the Senior Buyer and manage procurement processes, supplier relationships, and participate in corporate supply chain initiatives. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring office presence at least three days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and report to the Senior Buyer and/or Supply Chain Focal Point.
• Source and procure operational and engineering materials and services efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Manage and update Procurement Status Reports (PSR) for timely supplier selection and order commitments.
• Review and initiate new supplier onboarding and compliance with Due Diligence requirements.
• Develop bidder’s lists and issue enquiries for goods and services, resolving queries and analyzing tenders.
• Negotiate prices with suppliers to achieve price reductions and handle claims and variations.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders with all relevant requirements.
• Manage post-order administration including variations, expediting, and invoice queries.
• Interface effectively with other disciplines such as quality, engineering, and logistics.
• Attend internal and external progress meetings and represent the supply chain function at corporate meetings.
• Participate in corporate supply chain initiatives and liaise with Project and Operations teams.

Key Skills:

• Procurement and expediting experience, particularly in piping/structural fabrication and bulk commodity items.
• Knowledge of local supply markets.
• Proficient in supply chain systems and tools, such as Oracle and MODS.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to foster relationships with suppliers, clients, and stakeholders.
• Experience in managing procurement processes and supplier relationships.
