Summary: The role of Buyer for a high street fashion brand in Cardiff involves sourcing, selecting, and negotiating with suppliers to develop a commercially viable product range. Key Responsibilities:
- Source, select and negotiate with suppliers to obtain optimum product, prices and terms of contract.
- Utilize supplier’s expertise to improve range and knowledge.
- Lead meetings at Director/Head of level ensuring effective key information is communicated and any actions are completed within the set timescales.
- Collaborate with other departments within the company to ensure the successful launch of new product lines/seasonal collections and other company initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with the merchandising team to monitor and control trade, ensuring stock turn, margin targets and profit levels are achieved.
- Review and analyze sales data, identifying top performing product/lines, ensuring data driven decisions are made for future lines/intakes and recommendations for improvement made and presented.
