Detailed Description From Employer:

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a high growth PE-backed manufacturing business to secure a genuinely different kind of IT professional. Under new executive leadership with a strong digital pedigree and a clear two-year growth and exit roadmap, the business is investing in the people and technology that will take it to the next level. This is where you come in.

The Role

This isn't a traditional IT job and it won't suit a traditional IT person. The business already has an IT team keeping operations running - what it doesn't have is someone proactive, curious and commercially minded enough to look up from the day-to-day and ask what could we be doing better? This role sits alongside the existing IT function as a genuine growth enabler - a strategic partner to the exec team who will get off their chair, spend time with the business, and identify where technology can simplify, accelerate and create real competitive advantage. You won't be managing the helpdesk. You'll be shaping the roadmap.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Acting as the proactive technology partner to the exec team - bridging the gap between business ambition and IT delivery
  • Leading the data and analytics build-out; improving BI capability and reporting across the business
  • Driving e-commerce technology, front-end platforms and digital integration
  • Rationalising and simplifying the tech stack - cutting complexity, improving performance
  • Identifying and evaluating software acquisitions and new technology investments
  • Integrating systems across a multi-channel, multi-site operation - logistics, wholesale, tourism, retail and e-commerce
  • Embedding AI tools and thinking practically about where they create real business value
  • Building toward a fractional/full CTO remit as the business scales over a two-year horizon

What We're Looking For

  • An IT professional who thrives when embedded in the business - not sat behind a screen
  • Genuine curiosity: someone who asks questions, challenges assumptions and looks for smarter ways to do things
  • Hands-on experience across ERP, infrastructure and digital/e-commerce platforms
  • Strong commercial instincts - you understand how technology drives revenue, margin and operational efficiency
  • Experience of data, BI and analytics - either building capability or leading a build-out
  • Background in a similarly sized, multi-channel, manufacturing, retail or consumer business would be a real advantage
  • Ambition to grow - this role has genuine strategic scope and a clear pathway to CTO
