Summary: The Finance Systems Business & Test Analyst role is a 15-month fixed-term contract based in London, focusing on supporting a significant finance systems transformation within a global financial services institution. The position involves close collaboration with Finance, IT, and international stakeholders, requiring hands-on delivery and management of complex system changes in a regulated banking environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in business analysis and test management, particularly in finance systems implementation. This role offers exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to contribute to the development of new operating models and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary Business & Test Analyst supporting the Accounts & Tax function during the implementation of new finance systems
- Lead business analysis activities for new accounting and regulatory reporting platforms, including data flow analysis and data mapping
- Coordinate testing strategy, scope, and execution across multiple project streams and stakeholder groups
- Create, maintain, and validate test scripts, test data, and requirements coverage matrices
- Execute and manage system, regression, and user acceptance testing, including defect management and resolution
- Produce clear, regular progress and test status reporting for senior stakeholders
- Support the development of new operating models, procedures, and end-user training
Key Skills:
- Proven experience implementing new accounting or finance systems within a banking or financial services environment
- Strong background in business analysis and test management across complex system change programmes
- Experience managing testing activity involving offshore or international development teams
- Confident using Jira and Confluence for requirements, testing, and defect management
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting processes and terminology
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and resolve issues in a structured manner
- Clear, concise communicator able to engage effectively with senior management

This role sits within a Project & Change environment and works closely with Finance, IT, and international stakeholders. It’s well suited to someone who enjoys hands-on delivery, complex system change, and operating in a regulated banking environment with real exposure to senior stakeholders and overseas head office teams.

- Exposure to Bank of England or similar regulatory reporting environments
- Relevant qualifications such as ISTQB, APM, Agile or accounting-related certifications
- Experience supporting multi-year transformation or replacement programmes
- Familiarity with tools such as MS Visio and advanced PowerPoint reporting
- Experience working closely with international head office teams
- Background in Accounts & Tax or Finance Operations functions
