Summary: The Business Manager (MAT cover) role at Fortune involves overseeing office operations and partnering with leadership and HR to drive operational excellence in the London office. Key Responsibilities:
- Own and optimise day-to-day office operations to enable a high-performing work environment
- Drive continuous improvement across administrative processes, increasing efficiency and scalability
- Ensure compliance with company policies (including T&E), proactively identifying and addressing gaps
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and office services, including negotiation and performance oversight
- Own and track the office budget, managing costs, flagging variances, and identifying savings opportunities
- Partner with global teams (HR, Legal, IT) to ensure seamless operational support
- Provide local IT coordination and first-line support where required
- Oversee health & safety compliance, including audits and risk mitigation(with HR Director)
- Facilitate employee engagement initiatives and office events to support culture building
- Partner with Client Services and Events teams to deliver UK and European events aligned to commercial objectives
- Support venue sourcing, supplier selection, and contract negotiation with a focus on cost, quality, and delivery
- Track and manage event budgets, monitoring spend and identifying risks and efficiencies
- Coordinate end-to-end logistics, including AV, production, travel, staffing, and event collateral
- Manage vendor timelines, deliverables, and performance to ensure high-quality execution
- Support on-site delivery, including run-of-show coordination, guest experience, and issue resolution
- Assist with post-event reconciliation, reporting, and continuous improvement
- Partner with HR and IT to support onboarding, offboarding, and broader employee lifecycle processes
- Ensure new hires are fully operational from Day 1, and offboarding is managed securely and efficiently
- Maintain accurate tracking of leave, compliance, and employee documentation
- Act as a proactive partner to stakeholders, anticipating needs and resolving issues with minimal oversight
Key Skills:
- 2–4 years’ experience in business operations, executive support, office management, or similar roles
- Proven ability to partner with stakeholders and operate with professionalism and sound judgment
- Strong operational and commercial acumen, including budget, vendor, and process management
- Experience managing Travel & Expense processes and ensuring policy compliance
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills; experience in media or fast-paced environments preferred
