Summary: The Business Finance Analyst role at Phoenix Group involves supporting the production and reporting of monthly management and annual statutory accounts for the group's service companies. The position requires collaboration with the MI Team and the wider Expenses team to ensure accurate financial reporting and intercompany expense management. The role is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract with flexible working arrangements. Candidates should possess a finance background and strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the MI Team in producing, coordinating, and issuing an accurate ServCo entity MI pack monthly.
- Manage intercompany expense recharging to reflect appropriate legal entity positions.
- Liaise with the Expenses team to understand key drivers of expense positions.
- Ensure the ServCo position is correct in the ledger monthly and reconcile numbers for clarity.
- Assist in improving MI reporting to meet evolving management requirements.
- Gain knowledge of other expense processes and provide cover as needed.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and reporting deliverables as required.
Key Skills:
- Newly or part-qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA).
- Finance background with accounting/technical experience.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Good degree of computer literacy, particularly in MS Office (especially Excel).
- Familiarity with General Ledgers, Oracle Cloud ledger, and EPBCS is advantageous.
- Flexible and varied approach to workload.
- Focus on controls and systems is beneficial.
- Understanding of the Service Company business model and its drivers is a plus.
