Business Development & Partnership Manager, Life Sciences Location: Manchester Contract: 12-month contract to cover maternity leave Salary: 45K (p/t may be an option) Our prestigious and well-regarded client is seeking the support of an experienced professional with strengths in networking, partnership development, stakeholder engagement and business development. Candidates should bring experience within STEM-related sectors such as pharma, biotech, life sciences, medtech, healthcare, automation or instrumentation. They must have a background in business development or partnership engagement and preferable some experience with investment, ideally foreign investment, FDI. Working as part of a high-performing and dedicated commercial team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying, attracting and securing new business opportunities. As this is a 12 month maternity leave position they are looking for somebody who can make an immediate impact, requires minimal training and are able to work independently. The ideal individual will have: A genuine passion for science and broad knowledge of scientific applications driving growth across the sector A scientific degree (PhD preferred but not essential) Strong networking abilities and experience in developing new markets An entrepreneurial mindset with a flair for identifying collaborations and partnerships International commercial experience Excellent communication and presentation skills Proven customer-facing experience in business development, market access or stakeholder engagement This is a 12-month contract that is unlikely to be extended, making it well suited to an experienced individual seeking an exciting short-term opportunity while planning their next steps.
