An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and driven individual to join the renowned WMG at the University of Warwick as Business Development Manager in a diverse research environment with a main focus in Electrification. The role will help deliver Business Development for Research, working closely with the research teams across Electrification, to identify and secure industrial engagement opportunities for WMG as well as WMG’s multi-million-pound High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVMC). The role will help realise WMG’s vision and objectives to deliver the technologies, knowledge, and people to the industries of tomorrow, and to maximise opportunity, innovation, and growth for WMG and UK plc. Electrification will have a broad technology focus, and will include but not limited to research areas of Power Electronics Machines and Drives, Zero Emissions Transport & Energy Applications, and Battery Systems, working across the value chain from raw materials to industrial application to end of life.
About You
You will be a confident individual with both a good technical awareness and a demonstrable track record of successful experience of commercial management, with the achievement of challenging revenue targets. You will be able to demonstrate success in the securing of significant new business together with the ability to establish personal credibility with a broad range of management and technical practitioners. With a good understanding of the funding landscape, you will also help to generate potential public funding proposals (CRD) proposals with academia and industry, as well as partners across HVMC. You will have the ability to identify and develop new relationships and information sources from a wide network in order to increase awareness of industry, market developments and help stimulate growth.
