Summary: A leading insurance services organization is looking for a Business Data Analyst to join their data team during a cloud data transformation program. The role involves developing Snowflake-based data models and ensuring effective communication between technical teams and business stakeholders. The analyst will be responsible for optimizing data structures and delivering insights that drive business value. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to capture, refine and document business and technical requirements for Snowflake-based data warehouses, reports, and dashboards.
  • Design and maintain optimised Snowflake data models (including star schemas) to ensure scalable, reliable reporting and analytics.
  • Evaluate existing reports and conduct technical analyses to identify and close data gaps within Snowflake's data model.
  • Ensure alignment of data models with evolving business requirements and governance standards.
  • Investigate and resolve data integrity or reporting issues within Snowflake.
  • Deliver ad hoc datasets and insights, leveraging Snowflake's advanced capabilities while promoting best practices and high data quality.
  • Ensure all work adheres to internal policies, data governance frameworks, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain clear documentation of data flows, mappings, and processes.

Key Skills:

  • Strong SQL expertise for querying, analysis, and troubleshooting within Snowflake.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake environments.
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT processes to support data integration into Snowflake.
  • Experience capturing and translating stakeholder requirements into actionable data specifications.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on business value delivery.
  • Familiarity with insurance or financial services data (claims, policies, premiums).

About the Role

A leading insurance services organisation is seeking a Business Data Analyst to join their expanding data team during an exciting cloud data transformation programme. The business is building a new Snowflake-based data warehouse, and this role will play a pivotal part in shaping how data is structured, accessed, and used across the organisation.

You will act as the key interface between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring requirements are translated into high-quality Snowflake data models, pipelines, and reports that deliver measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Snowflake Data Analysis & Modelling
