Business Data Analyst - SC Cleared

We are looking for an experienced Business Data Analyst to support the final phase of a performance management and data improvement programme within a large government data environment.

The role will work across Data Owners, Category Leads and technical teams to mature performance metrics and dashboards, improve the quality and availability of underlying data, and help transition the capability into BAU.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with Data Owners and Category Leads to define, validate and refine KPIs and performance metrics across multiple data categories.
• Analyse existing data availability and quality, identifying gaps and agreeing requirements for previously unavailable metrics.
• Translate business and performance requirements into clear requirements for dashboard and data pipeline development.
• Review dashboard outputs and recommend improvements to usability, consistency and performance insight.
• Support testing and validation of new metrics, data sources and automated reporting.
• Support performance review forums, helping stakeholders translate insight into clear actions.
• Work closely with business, data, governance and technical stakeholders throughout delivery.

Key Experience

• Strong Business Analysis/Data Analysis experience within complex data or technology programmes.
• Experience defining KPIs, metrics, reporting and dashboard requirements.
• Strong data analysis skills with the ability to assess data quality, availability and suitability.
• Experience supporting dashboard, BI or performance reporting solutions.
