Summary: A client in the food, hospitality, and media industry is seeking a temporary Business Data Analyst to provide analytical and financial support through the end of May. The role focuses on delivering robust analysis to support strategic decision-making within the finance function, reporting directly to the Director of Strategy. The analyst will help clear a backlog of work and maintain momentum across ongoing projects. Key responsibilities include project-driven analysis, production of board-level reports, and finance administration tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project driven analysis across different elements of the business and the market
  • Assessment of strategic options, including potential growth sectors within a franchise-style business
  • Production of board-level reports and supporting FP&A activities
  • Creation, improvement and maintenance of dashboards, including consolidation and automation of inputs
  • Finance administration tasks such as sales logging, invoicing and internal transfers

Key Skills:

  • Strong business and data analysis capability
  • Solid understanding of small business finance, particularly FP&A
  • Experience producing analysis and reports for senior leadership or board-level audiences
  • Proficient in Google Sheets and Looker Studio
  • Experience using Sage for finance administration
  • Strong project and workstream management skills
  • Ability to interpret analysis, identify issues and propose practical solutions
  • Comfortable operating in a strategic context, assessing risks and opportunities
  • Confident communicator, able to work effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Self-starter who can work autonomously with pace and urgency
  • Comfortable balancing detailed administrative tasks with higher-level analytical work
  • Sound judgement and discretion when handling sensitive information
  • Adaptable and effective in a small, fast-moving business environment
  • Background in consulting and/or FMCG is beneficial

The Role

A client in the food, hospitality and media industry is seeking a temporary Business Analyst to join the team for a short-term engagement through the end of May. You will provide hands-on analytical and financial support during a period of increased workload, helping to clear a backlog of work and maintain momentum across ongoing projects. The role sits within the finance function and reports directly to the Director of Strategy, with a focus on delivering robust analysis to support strategic decision-making across multiple parts of the business.
