Summary: The Business Continuity Management (BCM) Consultant will play a vital role in enhancing organizational resilience by guiding teams in the development of Business Impact Analyses (BIA), Business Continuity Plans (BCP), and IT Disaster Recovery (ITDR) plans. This position requires a proactive approach to risk identification and operational readiness, ensuring that plans are actionable and aligned with enterprise objectives. The consultant will also support continuous improvement initiatives within the BCM program. This role is not focused on documentation but rather on driving meaningful engagement and accountability across technical and non-technical domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate the development and maintenance of Business Impact Analyses (BIA), Business Continuity Plans (BCP), and IT Disaster Recovery (ITDR) plans.
  • Guide both technical and non-technical stakeholders through BCM processes, ensuring clarity, engagement, and accountability.
  • Critically review plans and assumptions, challenging responses to ensure realistic recovery strategies, accurate RTO/RPO definitions, proper dependency mapping, and alignment with organizational risk appetite.
  • Ensure ITDR plans comply with internal BCM policies, standards, and governance requirements.
  • Proactively identify gaps, weaknesses, and inconsistencies in plans and assessment results.
  • Provide risk-based recommendations and actionable improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the BCM program and resilience framework.
  • Support testing, exercises, and simulation activities to validate plan effectiveness.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within the BCM program.
