Summary: The role of Business Architect - Technology Infrastructure involves supporting a major operational infrastructure programme within a regulated, enterprise-scale environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and delivering business architecture solutions, collaborating with senior stakeholders and third-party teams to achieve effective outcomes. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement with a base in Bristol and requires immediate availability. The contract is initially for six months at a rate of £575 per day, classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with senior stakeholders to define project concepts, business objectives, scope, risks, and dependencies
- Lead business architecture activities across operational infrastructure and IT-focused initiatives
- Capture, analyse, challenge, and prioritise business requirements and success measures
- Develop investment cases, mandates, and business change proposals
- Collaborate with architects and delivery partners to evaluate and recommend solution options
- Ensure business requirements are maintained throughout the project life cycle
- Support business readiness, process walkthroughs, and business acceptance testing
- Drive continuous improvement using industry best practices and emerging technologies
- Oversee and quality assure deliverables from third-party business architecture resources
Key Skills:
- Proven experience delivering business architecture change within complex enterprise environments
- Strong background in business process analysis, process design, and operating model improvement
- Experience working on IT infrastructure or operational infrastructure projects
- Excellent stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, and communication skills
- Experience developing business cases and investment proposals for large-scale transformation programmes
- Knowledge of formal project delivery methodologies such as PRINCE2 and associated governance processes
- Experience supporting RFI/ITT activities and vendor evaluation processes
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to translate business needs into practical solutions
