Summary: The role of Business Analyst with Banking experience involves acting as a liaison between business users and technology teams to gather and document requirements. The position requires supporting project delivery across various methodologies and facilitating stakeholder engagement to improve business processes. The analyst will also provide subject matter expertise in banking and assist in compliance initiatives. This is a contract position based in Northampton, UK, with a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between business users, product owners, and technology teams to elicit, document, and validate requirements.
- Gather, analyze, and translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Support end-to-end project delivery across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and focus groups with stakeholders to define business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop process flows, use cases, wireframes, and data models to support requirement clarity.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and UAT teams to ensure requirements are implemented correctly and meet business objectives.
- Support regulatory and compliance initiatives (e.g., PSD2, MiFID II, Basel III, AML/KYC, GDPR).
- Perform gap analysis, impact assessments, and risk identification for new projects or changes.
- Provide subject matter expertise in retail banking, corporate banking, payments, or wealth management, depending on project needs.
- Assist in creating training materials, user guides, and supporting change management activities.

- Strong knowledge of banking operations, products, and services (e.g., loans, mortgages, payments, trade finance, AML/KYC).
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within banking or financial services.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels.
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Visio, Excel, and Power BI (or similar).

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, IT, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).

- Minimum 3–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 2+ years in the banking sector.
