Business Analyst – Strategy & Planning

Responsibilities

  • Support the Strategy & Planning team in delivering the 2025–2029 Strategic Plan and priorities.
  • Gather, document and validate business requirements across strategic and transformation initiatives.
  • Analyse current and future processes, identify gaps, inefficiencies and control weaknesses, and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare business cases, options analysis and cost–benefit assessments to support investment and prioritisation decisions.
  • Support the enterprise planning cycle, including milestones, planning calendars and coordination with Finance and Risk.
  • Maintain strategic initiative trackers, monitor delivery, and escalate risks, dependencies and slippage.
  • Develop KPIs, dashboards, scorecards and management information for senior decision-making.
  • Act as a key link between Strategy & Planning, Transformation, business units and support functions.
  • Coordinate strategy workshops, quarterly reviews and planning sessions, including materials, logistics and actions.
  • Build strong relationships with Finance, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Operations, HR and business lines.
  • Prepare and quality-assure Board, Management Committee and senior executive papers, packs and presentations.
  • Support governance and committee processes, including agendas, minutes, action tracking and assurance/attestation.
  • Provide analytical and delivery support to major programmes and regulatory change initiatives.
  • Track and support mitigation of risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
  • Support change management, communications and adoption across impacted areas.

The candidate will need:

  • Strong Business Analysis experience, including requirements gathering, process mapping, gap analysis and developing practical solutions.
  • Experience supporting strategy, planning, transformation or change programmes, ideally within financial services.
  • Experience with planning, performance management, KPIs, dashboards and management information.
  • Experience working with governance, committees, senior management and/or Board-level reporting.
  • Strong understanding of risk, regulatory requirements and controls, ideally in a UK banking/financial services environment.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail and professional judgement, particularly when handling senior and regulatory outputs.
