Summary: The Business Analyst (Finance Systems) role at Right Legal involves leading business analysis for finance system implementation and document automation projects. This contract role is based on-site in Derby for four days a week, with a focus on delivering outcomes effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead business analysis for the implementation of a newly selected finance system.
- Map existing finance processes, identify gaps, and define necessary changes.
- Collaborate with the Finance Director and Head of Ops to shape the implementation plan.
- Clarify configuration needs and ensure business readiness for the new system.
- Support early delivery stages before a dedicated Project Manager joins.
- Analyse current processes from client fact-find through to document creation.
- Define requirements for a new document automation solution.
- Engage with internal teams to understand operational needs.
- Work with the vendor to align technical delivery with business process goals.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst on finance system projects.
- Ability to run discovery, define requirements, and identify process improvements.
- Comfortable with light-touch project management (e.g., timelines, prioritisation, stakeholder coordination).
- Confident communicator able to work with senior stakeholders and challenge constructively.
- Strong process mapping and documentation skills.
- Hands-on, pragmatic, and focused on outcomes.
- Experience with document automation or legal tech (e.g., Clarilis, Archa, or similar tools) is a plus.

Right Legal, a fast-growing wills and probate business in Derby, is kicking off two major transformation projects: a Finance System Implementation and a Document Automation upgrade. We’re looking for a confident, delivery-focused Business Analyst to take ownership of the business analysis across both workstreams. This is a hands-on role for someone who can bring structure, clarity, and momentum to fast-moving projects.
