Summary: The role of Business Analyst Quality Assurance - Payments involves supporting a large-scale payments migration and technology delivery programme for a leading organization in the UK payments and financial services sector. The consultant will be responsible for analytical tasks, testing, documentation, and stakeholder coordination across various teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in payments, banking, or fintech environments, with a focus on system integrations and quality assurance. Key Responsibilities:
- Support large-scale payments, cards, platform migration, or technology delivery programmes.
- Gather, analyse, and document business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation, and delivery inputs.
- Map current-state and future-state processes, system integrations, data flows, and operational workflows.
- Work closely with business, technology, product, operations, compliance, risk, and vendor teams to clarify requirements and support delivery.
- Support solution design discussions across payment flows, transaction processing, APIs, system integrations, and operational processes.
- Develop and support test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test execution across the migration lifecycle.
- Support system integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, data validation, and production readiness testing.
- Identify, document, track, and retest defects through to resolution.
- Support defect triage, issue resolution, risk tracking, and dependency management.
- Validate payment flows, transaction processing, data migration outputs, system integrations, and business requirements.
- Contribute to cutover rehearsals, go-live readiness assessments, production validation, and post-implementation support.
- Prepare clear documentation, status updates, risk logs, test reports, defect dashboards, and stakeholder communication materials.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Quality Assurance Analyst, Test Analyst, or similar role within banking, payments, cards, fintech, or financial services.
- Experience supporting large-scale technology transformation, platform migration, system integration, or payments delivery programmes.
- Good understanding of payment processing, transaction flows, card issuing/acquiring, APIs, data flows, system integrations, or operational processes.
- Experience gathering requirements, preparing documentation, supporting testing, and coordinating across business and technology teams.
- Hands-on experience with test planning, test case preparation, test execution, defect management, regression testing, or UAT support.
- Ability to identify gaps, risks, dependencies, defects, and process impacts in a structured way.

The client is looking for independent consultant who can operate across either technical business analysis or quality assurance workstreams, supporting the successful delivery of complex payment platform migration initiatives. The ideal consultant will have experience in payments, cards, banking, fintech, or regulated financial services environments, with strong exposure to system integrations, data flows, requirements gathering, testing, defect management, and go-live readiness.
