Business Analyst (Public Sector) - Contract

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our team and support the delivery of exciting digital transformation programmes across the public sector.

Working within Agile, multidisciplinary teams, you'll help shape and improve services by gathering requirements, analysing business processes, and translating stakeholder needs into practical solutions.

You'll play a key role in delivering projects that make a real difference to citizens and public sector organisations.

What You'll Be Doing

• Gathering and documenting business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
• Working closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and challenges.
• Facilitating workshops, interviews, and requirements gathering sessions.
• Mapping and analysing current and future business processes.
• Creating user stories, process maps, and supporting project documentation.
• Collaborating with Product Managers, Service Designers, User Researchers, and Technical Teams.
• Supporting the delivery of projects through Agile methodologies.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and service optimisation.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience working as a Business Analyst on transformation or change programmes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience eliciting and documenting requirements.
• Ability to analyse complex business processes and recommend improvements.
• Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
• Excellent facilitation and workshop management skills.

Desirable Experience

• Public sector experience, including Central Government, Local Government, NHS, or related organisations.
• Knowledge of GDS standards and Service Standard principles.
• Experience working on digital transformation programmes.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Visio, Miro, or similar tools.
