Summary: The Business Analyst role focuses on providing B2B functional expertise within the Power and Gas Utilities sector, particularly in the UK market. The position involves analyzing and implementing new requirements, enhancing existing systems, and supporting Senior Business Managers in managing IT systems related to core business processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the Electricity and Gas Retail markets and will work closely with IT Program Managers and Architects to drive transformational programs. Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the functional design and business process in respective areas.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand and investigate feedback into the service/function/product provided.
- Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
- Gather critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and produce useful reports.
- Perform gap analysis and propose the best possible solution design for a requirement suggesting any customizations required.
- Perform and assist functional validation of key design/requirement.
- Suggest key inputs in applications optimization from a functional standpoint.
- Produce written documentation to support work, report findings, and present to stakeholders when necessary.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 10 years of Business Analyst experience with deep specialist knowledge of the Electricity and Gas Retail markets.
- Strong functional knowledge of B2B Market, C&I Billing, Payments, Credit & Collections, and Market Settlements.
- Ability to convert business or functional requirements into system requirements comprehensible to technical teams.
- Aptitude to guide developers and testers with an understanding of basic technical terms.
- Strong requirements management and consultative solution delivery experience.
- Strong analytical skills and support in troubleshooting issues or incidents.
- Knowledge of current and future industry and regulatory changes.
- Basic knowledge of other relevant business processes such as Customer Management, Metering, Field Services, Asset Management.
- Working knowledge of tools such as MS Visio and MS PowerPoint.

Job Role: The role provides broad B2B functional expertise within Power and Gas Utilities, focusing on key areas such as UK B2B Market, C&I Billing, Payments, Generation Services, Data & Metering services, and Market Settlements for analysis and implementation of new requirements as well as enhancing existing systems. The Business Analyst will also need to support the Senior Business Managers in performing and managing the IT systems around core business processes (end to end), which can also involve tracking/reviewing system changes, Architecture inputs, digital transformations, Security compliance, and Audit relevance. He/she will need to work closely with IT Program Managers and Architects in driving transformational programs and Automations in key focused areas to drive business changes. Requires good hands on experience as a Senior Business Analyst playing similar roles.
