A growing tech consultancy operating in the future engineering and AI space is hiring 1–2 contract Business Analysts to join a high-impact discovery engagement with a large player in the buy-to-rent property sector. This is an initial 2–3 month discovery focused on evaluating legacy systems and shaping a future-state solution, with strong potential to extend into a broader 9–18 month transformation programme.

The engagement

The successful person will dig into two core legacy systems - assessing their effectiveness and helping shape pragmatic future-state recommendations. They'll work closely with technical delivery teams to translate analysis into clear, achievable business outcomes. This isn't a role in isolation: you will be supported by a senior consultant and a senior delivery principal throughout as well as working with a talented technical engineering team.

What they're looking for

  • A technically comfortable BA who can analyse legacy systems in depth and work hand-in-hand with engineering teams
  • Strong system analysis skills alongside genuine stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation (you could be leading workshops for example)
  • Consulting experience is preferred - someone who's confident client-facing, effective in workshops, and able to feed insights back to both client and technical teams
  • Excellent communication and the ability to operate professionally in a consultancy environment
  • AI awareness is a plus (familiarity with AI-centric workflows, LLMs, or adjacent delivery work)

The details

Location: Manchester — hybrid, ~2–3 days per week on-site initially, split between the client's central Manchester office (near Piccadilly Gardens) and the consultancy's Northern Quarter office

Rate: Circa £500/day
