Summary: The role of PIM Business Analyst involves supporting the implementation of a new Product Information Management solution for a major UK retailer, focusing on product data quality and governance. The position requires experience in multiple PIM implementations and the ability to work across various platforms. The analyst will lead discovery processes, define workflows, and align the PIM system with existing ERP and ecommerce systems. The contract is initially for 7 months with a hybrid working arrangement and a significant onsite presence required during the discovery phase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead discovery to document current-state product data processes and pain points.
- Define future-state workflows for onboarding, enrichment, approval and publishing.
- Produce business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and process flows.
- Define taxonomy, attributes, hierarchies, variants and relationships with data teams.
- Establish data quality rules and governance.
- Translate requirements into functional specifications for configuration.
- Align PIM with D365, ecommerce, DAM and downstream systems.
- Document integrations, mappings and synchronisation rules.
- Support SIT and UAT.
- Create documentation, support training and hypercare.
Key Skills:
- Proven delivery of multiple end-to-end PIM implementations.
- Strong stakeholder management across merchandising, product, data, ecommerce and IT.
- Deep understanding of product data models and governance.
- Experience working alongside large ERP programmes, ideally Microsoft D365.
- Retail experience preferred.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity during discovery.

The role operates alongside a wider Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP transformation and focuses on product data quality, governance and distribution. The PIM platform is still being selected. Candidates must show multiple PIM implementations and the ability to work platform-agnostically across Akeneo, inRiver or equivalent.
