Summary: The Business Analyst role is a contract position focused on the Non-Life Insurance domain, specifically within the London Insurance Market. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience and will be responsible for translating business needs into functional and technical deliverables while optimizing workflows and engaging with various stakeholders. The position requires expertise in Specialty Lines and familiarity with multiple insurance platforms. The role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days on-site in London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate business needs into functional and technical deliverables.
  • Gather and analyze requirements from cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Redesign and optimize workflows through As-Is/To-Be process modeling.
  • Engage with stakeholders across Broking, Underwriting, Ops, and IT.
  • Work with platforms such as PPL, PAS (Majesco, Duck Creek), UW Workbench, DCOM, and XIS.
  • Facilitate workshops, group interviews, and focus sessions.
  • Deliver regulatory and operational solutions in alignment with FCA standards.
  • Plan UAT, create test scenarios, and coordinate with QA teams.

Key Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in the Non-Life Insurance domain.
  • Strong understanding of London Market Insurance (MGAs, Coverholders, XIS).
  • Proficient in Business Process Mapping (As-Is/To-Be).
  • Experience in PPL Integration & Digital Placement.
  • Familiarity with Policy Administration Systems (Duck Creek, Majesco).
  • Strong skills in Requirements Gathering & Functional Specification.
  • Experience in Agile Delivery (Product Owner, Scrum).
  • Proficient in Data Analysis & Regulatory Reporting.
  • Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel, SQL.
  • Strong background in Agile (Scrum) and Waterfall SDLC methodologies.
  • Experience with UAT planning and defect triage.

Role purpose / summary

Our client is looking for a Business Analyst with 10+ years of experience in the Non-Life Insurance domain, primarily serving the London Insurance Market. Proven expertise in translating business needs into functional and technical deliverables, with a strong grasp of Specialty Lines (Marine, Personal Lines), compliance, and end-to-end policy lifecycle. Adept at liaising between cross-functional stakeholders, gathering and analyzing requirements, and working with platforms such as PPL, PAS (Majesco, Duck Creek), UW Workbench, DCOM, and XIS. Experienced in redesigning and optimizing workflows through As-Is/To-Be process modeling and aligning solutions with market modernization programs such as Blueprint Two.

  • Experienced in delivering regulatory and operational solutions in alignment with FCA standards
  • Familiarity with London Market systems and data standards: PPL, DCOM, CDR, XIS, IMR, ECF, MRC v3
  • Deep understanding of both business and technical sides of insurance workflows
  • Proficient in UAT planning, test scenario creation, and coordination with QA teams for defect triage and resolution.
