Summary: A Financial Services client in the North West is seeking a Mortgage Migration Business Analyst to facilitate the migration of mortgage products and customer data from legacy systems to a new platform. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and accuracy during the migration process, requiring strong mortgage domain knowledge and hands-on experience. The analyst will translate complex business requirements into functional specifications while engaging with technical teams and vendors. This position is initially for a 6-month engagement on a hybrid working basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements related to mortgage product and system migration.
- Understand end-to-end mortgage lifecycle processes including origination, servicing, collections, arrears, and redemption.
- Analyse differences between legacy and target mortgage systems (gap analysis).
- Define business rules for product mapping, interest calculations, fees, charges, and payment hierarchies.
- Work with data and technical teams to define source-to-target data mappings.
- Validate data transformation rules and migration logic.
- Support data cleansing, reconciliation, and exception handling activities.
- Review and sign off migration outputs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Act as a liaison between business users, IT, vendors, and third-party providers.
- Facilitate workshops, walkthroughs, and design reviews.
- Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst on mortgage migration or core banking transformation projects.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage products and servicing (e.g. fixed, variable, trackers, interest-only).
- Hands-on experience with data migration and reconciliation.
- Strong requirements documentation skills (BRDs, FRDs, user stories).
