Summary: This role is for a Business Analyst within a dynamic technical programme in the public sector, requiring hybrid working with 1-2 days in Manchester. The position is focused on solving complex problems and delivering robust solutions, ideal for analytical thinkers. Candidates should have experience in stakeholder identification, gap analysis, and defining project scopes. The role offers an immediate start and is initially for 6 months, with a daily rate of £300 inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Identification: Mapping out the client's ecosystem to ensure all voices from executives to end-users are heard.
  • As-Is vs. To-Be Analysis: Conducting workshops to document current workflows and visualizing the future state using flowcharts and diagrams.
  • Gap Analysis: Identifying the specific distance between where the client is and where they need to be, then proposing viable solutions.
  • Scope Definition: Helping the Project Manager define what is "in" and "out" of scope to prevent the dreaded "scope creep" later in the project.

Key Skills:

  • Experience translating business objectives into detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Proven track record of leading or contributing to high-impact Discovery phases, successfully moving from initial ambiguity to a defined project roadmap.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a Business Analyst role, with at least one significant project delivered within a Local or Central Government.
  • An understanding of the GDS Service Manual and the Service Assessment process (Alpha, Beta, Live) is a significant advantage.
