Summary: The Business Analyst role is a 12-month contract position based in Glasgow, focusing on performance reporting, data analysis, and tool development to enhance business efficiency. The successful candidate will work with large datasets and collaborate with finance teams to derive insights and support decision-making processes. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing flexibility in the work environment. The salary for this role is up to £48,000, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and interpret large datasets to support financial and performance reporting
- Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports using SQL and/or Power BI
- Work closely with finance teams to extract meaningful insights from complex data
- Build tools to support forecasting, trend analysis, and other decision-making processes
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial data used in reporting
Key Skills:
- Strong experience working with large and complex datasets
- Proven skills in SQL and/or Power BI
- Ideally experience working within or alongside a finance or accounting team (desirable but not essential)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate insights effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hybrid environment
