Summary: The Business Analyst role focuses on driving business analysis activities for transformational change initiatives within a drones project. The candidate will engage with stakeholders to identify business problems and translate them into drone use cases, ensuring effective communication and documentation of requirements. A strong emphasis is placed on stakeholder management and the ability to develop a deep understanding of business processes. The role requires a proactive approach to delivering sustainable change and supporting the development of IT-based services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Business Analysis activities on multiple change initiatives, delivering requirements specifications for IT-based services.
  • Translate business needs into specific requirements including UI design, data models, and business procedural changes.
  • Ensure thorough use of the Requirements Engineering model including elicitation, analysis, validation, documentation, and traceability of requirements.
  • Utilize appropriate elicitation techniques such as interviewing stakeholders, facilitating workshops, and conducting surveys.
  • Develop AS-IS and TO-BE business process models and conduct gap analysis for transition plans.
  • Manage stakeholder communication at all levels.
  • Ensure User Acceptance Testing takes place for all deliverables and support associated testing activities.
  • Support the delivery of suitable solutions that meet business requirements.

Heads-up about the Role: Look for candidates with strong stakeholder management skills. This is a drones project , and the candidate will be required to interview operational teams to map business problems to drone use cases. Use Cases: Mini Drones: Fly over rivers/reservoirs and dip sensors to collect mid-body water quality data. Large Drones: Capture aerial photography of reservoirs and catchments.

Job Description : Role and Responsibilities The Business Analyst will carry out business analysis activities on one or more transformational business change initiatives across the client portfolio. This will include working with key stakeholders to elicit, analyse and document all types of requirements in line with Practice Standards, policies, procedures, and methodologies to define acceptance criteria and support benefits realisation. Key to this role is to possess an inquisitive, questioning nature; to be able to probe and develop a deep understanding of business processes, business operating models and behaviours, identify opportunities creating an environment for delivering effective and sustainable change. Role holders will drive towards demonstration of high levels of professionalism, particularly when engaging with business stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead Business Analysis activities on multiple change initiatives, delivering requirements specifications capable of being used to develop IT based services (bespoke software solutions, third party products and cloud-based solutions);
  • Translating business needs into specific requirements including UI design;
  • Data models;
  • Business procedural changes and Interface designs
  • Ensure thorough use of the Requirements Engineering model including elicitation, analysis, validation, documentation and traceability of requirements
  • Use the appropriate elicitation techniques such as interviewing stakeholders, facilitating workshops, conducting surveys to capture requirements accurately
  • Develop AS-IS and TO-BE business process models using defined standards, and use gap analysis to support delivery of any transition plans needed to reach the target situation
  • Manage stakeholder communication at all levels
  • Ensure that User Acceptance Testing takes place for all deliverables and support any associated testing activities
  • Support the delivery of suitable solutions which meet business requirements
