Transaction Reporting Data Business Analyst Investment Bank - City of London

Seeking a Data Business Analyst to support Transaction Reporting and Regulatory Reporting activities across multiple jurisdictions.

The role sits within a regulatory reporting team responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of trade reporting obligations for derivative products including Rates, Credit, FX, and Commodities.

The position will work closely with Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Business stakeholders to improve data quality, investigate reporting issues, enhance processes, and support regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, exceptions, and data quality issues.
  • Support transaction reporting obligations across multiple regulatory regimes.
  • Investigate reporting breaks, exceptions, and control failures.
  • Partner with Technology, Operations, and Compliance teams to resolve data and reporting issues.
  • Gather and document business requirements.
  • Perform root cause analysis and support implementation of long-term solutions.
  • Review and improve operational processes and controls.
  • Support regulatory change initiatives and reporting enhancements.
  • Contribute to data governance, data quality, and process improvement projects.

Required Experience

  • 2+ years' experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Regulatory Reporting Analyst, or similar role within Financial Services
  • Exposure to Transaction Reporting or Regulatory Reporting
  • Knowledge of EMIR, MiFID II, SFTR, REMIT, Dodd-Frank, ASIC, MAS, or similar reporting regimes.
  • Strong data analysis and investigation skills.
  • Experience analysing large datasets and identifying data issues.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into clear functional solutions.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholder groups including Business, Operations, Technology, and Compliance.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work in a regulated environment.
  • Understanding of derivatives products such as Swaps, Futures, Options, FX, Credit, Rates, or Commodities.
  • Experience with data quality, reconciliations, controls, and exception management.
