Summary: The role of Building Surveyor involves supporting the Building Services Team within a Public Sector client in Cheshire, focusing on response maintenance and planned capital works. The ideal candidate should have experience in local authority property and estate management, and be capable of managing projects from inception to completion. Key Responsibilities:
- Technically assess and add detail to response repair requests
- Issue orders to contractors, monitor progress, and carry out quality checks on-site
- Prepare specifications and tender documentation for maintenance, alteration, and construction works
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) to produce tender and contract drawings
- Manage all aspects of projects from inception to completion
Key Skills:
- An HNC/HND in Building Studies (or equivalent) with evidence of working towards Chartered Membership (e.g., CIAT, ARB)
- A good understanding of current construction standards, cost control, and procurement practices
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, NBS, NSR, and other computer-based programs
- Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary building projects
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workloads
- Strong oral and written communication skills
