Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing condition issues and developing practical, cost-effective solutions
- Preparing and reviewing planned maintenance programmes with individual schools
- Supporting the development of specifications, quotes, and ITTs
- Assisting in bid evaluations and contractor/consultant appointments
- Project managing works from inception through to delivery
- Contributing to the delivery of major capital projects and external funding bids
- Maintaining project management, financial and asset management systems
- Ensuring works align with the Council’s climate and ecological emergency commitments
Key Skills:
- A degree in Building Surveying (or equivalent professional experience)
- Proven experience in building surveying and project management
- Strong knowledge of building condition assessments, maintenance, and capital works
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

We are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join a dynamic Surveyor Team on an interim basis, supporting a portfolio of schools and education buildings across London. This is an excellent opportunity to make a direct impact on the delivery, safety, and improvement of children’s services facilities while working within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
As the link surveyor for a group of schools and education sites, you will act as the key point of contact for headteachers, business managers, site managers, contractors, consultants, building control, planning, and health & safety teams. You will be responsible for managing planned and urgent works, ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard, on time, and within budget.
Key responsibilities include:
