Summary: The Building Surveyor role is a temporary position focused on planned capital works and refurbishment projects within the East Leicestershire and Rutland area. Temporary job-building surveyor

JOB TITLE: Building Surveyor
LOCATION: East Leicestershire and Rutland area
RATE: £300 Umbrella per day

A local authority commercial property services have an immediate temporary need for an experienced Building Surveyor.
Working within Property Services, this role is entirely focused on planned capital works and refurbishment projects across the varied council property portfolio. Reporting in to Senior Management, you will attend update and progress meetings.

Job Duties:
As a Building Surveyor, you will be involved in inspecting defects and planning remedial works arising from these. Preparing scopes of works and budget costing of planned works and presenting these for consideration and approval. Organising and checking statutory compliance inspections across the authorities' buildings and then costing works along with arranging remedial works arising. The majority of the projects ar £50k or under but there are many, so being able to work on numerous projects at once is essential. This is working on non-housing.

Prepare specifications
Supervise works on site, manage and administer variations and budgets.

Develop relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders. Undertake inspections, monitor and manage performance.
Problem-solve solutions to a wide variety of projects across a diverse building portfolio.

What you'll need to succeed

A building surveying qualification - HNC or Degree
MRICS is preferable but not essential.

Experience of ideally working in the public sector on non-housing projects
or
Refurbishment and maintenance Building Surveyor project experience

Knowledge of JCT form of contract
