Summary: A local authority in Warwickshire is looking for an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) to join their Property Services team on an interim basis. The role involves delivering a full range of building surveying functions, managing maintenance works, and providing project management for various capital works schemes. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver the full range of building surveying functions across the council’s commercial property portfolio
- Carry out building condition surveys and develop a Planned Property Maintenance (PPM) programme
- Manage and prioritise maintenance works
- Prepare drawings and work schedules for building projects
- Provide project management for small to complex capital works schemes
- Prepare future maintenance budgets and liaise with finance teams
- Support feasibility studies and deliver improvement and investment plans
Key Skills:
- MRICS qualified – Chartered status is essential
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in building surveying, property maintenance, and asset management
- Strong technical knowledge of property maintenance planning, building regulations, and construction methods
- Ability to produce technical drawings and job-specific schedules
- Proven experience managing a range of projects from concept to completion
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
