THE MANDATE
Protocol Infrastructure is the standard-setting access governance layer for autonomous robotics in Commercial Real Estate (CRE).
We do not manufacture robots.
We map the physical and digital chokepoints of Tier-1 enterprise assets to establish the universal baseline for arbitration and fleet admission.
We are seeking a highly disciplined, freelance MEP Engineer or OT Field Technician to execute strictly governed, passive infrastructure audits inside flagship commercial high-rises.
You will act as the independent, vendor-neutral auditor on behalf of Protocol Infrastructure.
Approved engineers receive continuous, localized dispatch orders for asset audits as our portfolio scales.
EXECUTION SCOPE: You will execute the Protocol Audit alongside the facility’s Chief Engineer.
Strict Zero-Touch Mandate
You will perform 100% visual inspection and passive network telemetry.
You will not open OT cabinets, actuate mechanical relays, or bridge IT/OT networks.
The incumbent Chief Engineer will physically open all required enclosures for your visual inspection.
Spatial Geometry
Measure elevator cab dimensions, threshold lip heights, corridor clear-widths, and floor-leveling variances to establish the building's Maximum Addressable Envelope (MAE).
Network Continuity
Execute multi-band RF spatial sweeps (Wi-Fi, 4G/5G) across subterranean loading docks and vertical transit cores to map signal service gaps for micro-geofencing.
OT Forensics
Visually verify elevator dispatch endpoints (e.g., Schindler PORT, Otis ONE) and access control terminal wiring (OSDP vs. Wiegand).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & CLEARANCES
Engineering Baseline: Minimum 3 years of field experience in MEP engineering, HVAC/BMS controls, elevator maintenance, or low-voltage OT network installation.
Health & Safety: Must hold an active, verifiable industrial safety certification (e.g., OSHA-10, CSCS, or VCA).
Professional Rigor: Ability to interface directly with enterprise Chief Engineers and IT Directors with expert authority.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT & CONDUCT
Auditor-Provided Tools: Handheld Laser Distance Meter (Accuracy +/- 1mm), Digital Spirit Level, Step Gauge, Digital Lux Meter.
Protocol-Provided Tools: Protocol Infrastructure will ship a locked diagnostic kit for the duration of the audit, including a pre-configured iPad terminal, passive OT packet sniffer, and RF/Telemetry analyzer.
Institutional Attire: Standard corporate MEP attire. Unbranded professional workwear, steel-toe boots, and standard high-vis PPE when in service corridors.
You will be issued an official Protocol Infrastructure Authorization Badge for site access.
APPLICATION PROTOCOL
Submit your standard resume/CV outlining your MEP, OT, or network experience, along with your active Health & Safety certification.
