Summary: The role of Building Inspector involves managing a diverse caseload of domestic and commercial developments for a Local Authority in the West Midlands. The inspector will conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and Building Regulations while providing technical advice and maintaining records. This position is offered on an initial 6-month contract with flexible working arrangements. The role is classified as outside IR35 and offers a competitive hourly rate.

Key Responsibilities:

Key Skills:

  • Experience as a Class 2A-F Registered Building Inspector.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage a mixed caseload effectively.

Salary (Rate): £70.00/hr

Detailed Description From Employer:

We are currently working with a Local Authority in the West Midlands that is looking to appoint an experienced Class 2A-F Registered Building Inspector to support their busy Building Control service on an initial 6-month contract. They are happy to wait for the right candidate if you have a bigger notice period.

The Role:

  • Managing a mixed caseload of domestic and commercial developments.
  • Carrying out site inspections and ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and Building Regulations.
  • Providing professional technical advice to applicants, developers, and members of the public.
  • Maintaining accurate records and delivering a high standard of customer service.

They are looking to pay £55-70 per hour (OUTSIDE of IR35) and can offer flexible working.
