Summary: The Building & Construction Project Leader will oversee CAPEX projects from inception to final handover, ensuring effective project delivery and compliance with design specifications. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage a multi-functional project team and maintain client relationships. The position is based on a 12-month contract with a focus on project management within the building and construction sector. Security clearance is preferred, and the role is classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update/manage and monitor a project delivery plan.
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities.
  • Manage CAPEX business cases from preparation through approval to delivery and project close.
  • Develop detailed design briefs for Building Services design for various projects.
  • Produce and present documentation, reports, technical analysis, and cost reports using IT tools.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and other design team members.
  • Prepare reports, drawings, and specifications, managing project external costs.
  • Develop and maintain excellent client relationships.
  • Monitor installation works on site for technical compliance and H&S matters.

Key Skills:

  • Ability to lead, motivate and manage a Multi-Functional Project Team (MFT).
  • Previous experience in a senior PM role within FM.
  • Experience in Capital Investment Project management and project delivery.
  • ONC / HNC or equivalent in a Building Engineering Services design-related discipline.
  • Experience in Building Engineering Services Refurbishment for small to medium-sized projects.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing projects from inception to handover.
  • Ability to develop client briefs into construction requirements.
  • Good practical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
  • Previous experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Relevant professional membership (CIBSE, IMechE, IET).
  • Effective communication skills with stakeholders.
  • Responsible for assuring safety, security, and ethical compliance.
