Summary: The Build Preparation Coordinator is responsible for enhancing business processes related to build operations, including resource and capacity planning, logistics, and continuous improvement projects. This role requires effective management of daily responsibilities and cross-functional relationships to ensure operational efficiency. The position demands strong IT skills for data analysis and reporting, alongside proficient communication and organizational abilities. The role is contract-based and requires on-site work in Coventry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and delivery of business processes for build operations, resource and capacity planning.
- Identify and deliver continuous improvement projects for the build facility while managing day-to-day responsibilities of direct reports.
- Establish and maintain key cross-functional relationships within the business.
- Manage shortage parts post allocation and the movement of parts between stores and build zones.
- Oversee the management of missing, damaged, or incorrectly processed items within build operations.
- Coordinate rework activities and ensure proper return processes for parts supporting the build.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure completeness of part kits and resolve issues.
- Investigate root causes of part pick issues using problem-solving methodologies.
- Deliver and maintain operational processes to meet strategic objectives.
- Coordinate parts returned from build and investigate reasons for non-requirement.
- Create and manage pick kit Matrix for each build and update on Wrike.
- Interface with key stakeholders to ensure efficient service and process delivery.
- Conduct systems investigations into parts queries and shortages.
- Act as escalation point for shortage parts impacting build operations.
- Respond to reasonable requests from area management or lead levels.
Key Skills:
- Competent IT skills for data analysis and report production, with intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (VBA and Power Query preferred), Tableau or Power BI, and Wrike or Microsoft Project.
- Understanding of parts tracking systems like GPIRS/SAP or similar for Bill of Materials control.
- Proficient communication and organizational skills for managing multiple tasks.
- Driving license for occasional travel between Whitley & Lyons Park.
- Experience in logistics and parts environment (desirable).
- Experience in stakeholder management (desirable).
- Proficient problem-solving skills (desirable).
- Data-driven profile with experience in Excel reports and data analysis (desirable).
- Educational background in Data Analytics, Production/Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics, or Administration (desirable).
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Business Intelligence knowledge, and project planning software skills (desirable).
