Position: Senior Occupational Therapist
Team: Bromley Occupational Therapy Team, Adult Social Services
Location: London Borough of Bromley (Hybrid - 2 days office, 3 days from home)
Contract: Full-time, winter period cover until March 31st, 2025
Hourly Rate: Up to 36 per hour
Start Date: Immediate start preferred, within the next 2 weeks
Flexible Working: Community visits required, hybrid arrangement available
Expenses: Mileage expenses reimbursed for work-related travel (excluding commute from home to work)
Overview
The Occupational Therapy Team at the London Borough of Bromley is actively seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join us for the winter period to help support adults in need throughout the community. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to provide essential services in a flexible, hybrid setting, and you'll be a key part of a dedicated team focused on maximizing clients' independence and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments of clients in their own homes, determining the need for necessary equipment and minor adaptations to promote independence.
Triage and assess suitability for OT services, reablement, and other support options.
Perform Moving and Handling assessments, including providing equipment and assessing options for reduction of care where appropriate.
Collaborate with the Discharge to Assess (D2A) OT to support hospital discharges, facilitating timely and safe transitions.
Assess and provide recommendations for major adaptations as needed.
Requirements
Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Proven experience in Adult Social Services and community-based Occupational Therapy.
Excellent assessment, decision-making, and communication skills.
Willingness to work within a hybrid model, balancing office days with remote and community-based work.
