Summary: As a BP141/SR141/TP141 Commissioning Engineer, you will be instrumental in the execution of 400kV substation projects, primarily based in Newcastle with occasional site visits. Your responsibilities will include leading commissioning meetings, managing interfaces with National Grid, and overseeing project commissioning processes. This role offers a competitive daily rate and the potential for contract extensions. The position is outside IR35, allowing for flexible engagement terms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the main commissioning interface with National Grid.
- Attend and lead commissioning meetings, ensuring smooth communication across stakeholders.
- Manage commissioning documentation, schedules, and compliance with NG standards (BP141, SR141, TP141).
- Coordinate across 6–7 live 400kV substation projects.
- Support the safe and timely delivery of commissioning works.
- Provide reporting and assurance to senior project teams.
Key Skills:
- Valid National Grid BP141 / SR141 / TP141 authorisations.
- Proven background in commissioning 400kV substation projects.
- Strong understanding of National Grid procedures and safety rules.
- Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.

As a BP141 / SR141 / TP141 Commissioning Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the delivery of 400kV substation projects, focusing on:
- Leading commissioning panel meetings.
- Managing the interface with National Grid.
- Overseeing and coordinating the project commissioning processes across multiple schemes.
You’ll be primarily office-based in Newcastle, with occasional site visits, providing you with a consistent base while still being directly engaged with project delivery.
