Summary: The role of Java Messaging Engineer focuses on developing and optimizing the Booking & Messaging cell of a global electronic trading platform, specifically within the eBond ecosystem. The position requires expertise in high-throughput trade flows, low-latency messaging, and modern Java technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of performance optimization and network communication. This is a hybrid position based in London with a contract duration of 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize Java backend solutions for the eBond trading platform.
- Manage high-throughput trade flows and external venue connectivity.
- Implement low-latency messaging solutions using technologies like Kafka or Solace.
- Utilize Functional Reactive Programming techniques in development.
- Optimize network communication and socket programming for performance.
- Work with modern frameworks such as Spring IoC/MVC and SQL databases.
Key Skills:
- Expert-level proficiency in Core Java (8+) with a focus on Multithreading and Concurrency.
- Hands-on experience with Functional Reactive Programming (RxJava, Java 9 Flow API).
- Deep understanding of low-latency messaging systems (60East AMPS, Kafka, Solace).
- Expertise in socket programming and network communication optimization.
- Familiarity with Spring IoC/MVC, SQL (Sybase/PostgreSQL), and Linux internals.

We are seeking a high-caliber Java Backend Developer to join the Booking & Messaging cell of a global electronic trading platform. This role is at the heart of the "eBond" ecosystem, managing high-throughput trade flows and external venue connectivity.
Your Technical Arsenal
- Core Java Mastery: Expert-level Java (8+) with a focus on Multithreading, Concurrency, and Asynchronous processing.
- Reactive Systems: Hands-on experience with Functional Reactive Programming (RxJava, Java 9 Flow API, or similar).
- Low Latency Messaging: Deep understanding of 60East AMPS, Kafka, or Solace. You should be comfortable with Pub/Sub, Point-to-Point, and durable subscriptions.
- Middleware & Networking: Expertise in socket programming and optimizing low-latency network communication.
- Modern Stack: Spring IoC/MVC, SQL (Sybase/PostgreSQL), and a solid grasp of Linux internals.
Rate: £625 per day (Umbrella / Inside IR35)
