Summary: The role of Block Manager involves overseeing both external and internal packages on a major construction project with over 400 units. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure effective coordination, adherence to schedules, and compliance with quality and safety standards. This is a 12-month freelance position with an immediate start date, offering a competitive day rate. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in construction management, particularly in residential or commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all external and internal works within the assigned block, ensuring quality, safety, and programme adherence.
• Manage subcontractors and ensure works are progressing in line with project timelines.
• Conduct site inspections to maintain high standards of workmanship and health & safety compliance.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, Site Managers, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and problem-solving.
• Monitor and report on progress, quality, and safety issues to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, company policies, and HSE guidelines.
• Attend and contribute to site meetings, providing updates and solutions to any on-site challenges.

Key Skills:

• Proven experience as a Block Manager / Site Manager in construction, ideally within residential or commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of external works (facades, cladding, roofing, groundworks) and internal packages (fit-out, M&E coordination, finishes).
• SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications preferred.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
